During the beginning of August Bethlehem hosts a 10 day music and arts festival!  Residents of Bethlehem, PA either revel in it and attend every day or fear the crowds, traffic, and awful parking.  We headed over 2 of the festival days, the 2nd being the last day of the festival when it was raining so I didn’t get any shots of all the delicious food I ate that day or the amazing performance we saw.

This was a really really good meal.  I got a veggie wrap on cardamom flatbread which is so yummy and different from Alando’s, a Kenyan restaurant.  The flatbread is awesome!  I also got this watermelon slushie drink from Oinker’s Catering.  It had fresh chunks of watermelon in it which did interfere with drinking it through the straw but it made it obvious it was fresh!

Tim tried the crazy hot sauce and we watched a young band perform before heading home!

The next time we went to Musikfest it was the last day and we had some tickets we were determined to use!  I got frozen cheesecake which looked like this:

Then we took the shuttle for $2 each to the South Side of Bethlehem to catch a performance.  This is the first year they’ve had venues on the South Side and I think it worked well, I’m not sure how many people ventured over there due to the fee to ride the shuttle.  Mostly we think it was worth it because we saw the most amazing band ever!  MarchFourth performed and I would say they are a punk rock, burlesque, marching band with people on stilts.

Honestly none of the pictures I’m seeing online give you a sense of how spectacular their performance was, plus the music was good too!  If they’re coming near you I strongly recommend you check them out!

After their performance we took the shuttle back and met up with one of my husband’s friends in the polka tent!  Husband and I shared a brownie sundae with hot fudge sauce and called it a night!  We made it back to the car just as the rain picked up!
