Weekend in Baltimore, part 1

July 17, 2011

This weekend Tim and I went to Baltimore to spend the weekend with friends!  This was pretty much a miracle and we were all so impressed we actually did it!

My college friend Ruppert and his wife Liane invited Tim and I and my old college roommate Ren and her husband Matt down for the weekend.  Once we all arrived we headed out on foot to Miguel’s for some Mexican food!

I ordered a zucchini quesadilla but the jicama, carrot, and pumpkin seed salad that was on top was probably the best part.  It was delicious and a nice light accompaniment to the cheesy quesadilla!

Afterwards we walked over to the Tide Point Marina and hung out in the beautiful weather for a bit before we returned to Ruppert and Liane’s apartment for some anxiety-filled games!

We called it a night pretty late but Liane, Matt, and I got up and went running around 7:30.  Liane is a great tour guide, but unfortunately I couldn’t keep up with her pace for a few reasons and her regular 4 mile run turned into about a 2.5 mile run plus some walking.  Sorry!

Our hosts served us a homemade breakfast of blueberry muffins and tomato, basil, and feta quiche, as well as sausage for everybody else!

After we filled up we got ready to head out for the day to explore Baltimore but that will have to wait for another post!  I have to get myself together for work in the morning!
